When I was commissioned to design Ires stand at Stockholm Furniture Fair, I presented only a few different ideas. We decided on the theme “Homy and we know interior.” Prevailing trends that year were; studio feeling, mix and match styles, soveniers and so on. Many advertising pictures in interior was shot in a home environment. I wanted to creat a studio feeling and a warm home feeling in the stand. Decorated almost as if you were at home. I also thought it was important to show the Swedish production. We had, therefore, taken with us carts and shelves from the factory in Tibro. The photographs, fabrics and material samples were also from the factory and there were also sketches from the designers.

Ires Mobels story began back in 1939. The company’s basic concept has remained intact over the years - to create furniture with timeless design, clean lines and durable quality.

Ire Mobels furniture is environmental and handcrafted in Tibro in southern Sweden. The raw materials for furniture construction are sourced locally and the fabrics are from the leading weavers in Europe. It is important for Ire Mobel to produce close to our main markets. They work wholeheartedly for conducting business in an ethically responsible manner with as little impact as possible on the environment. Since November 2010, Ire Mobel are certified according to ISO 14001.
