Material Dialogues
Now more than ever, it is important to lead the way in sustainability. Material Dialogues is an 500 sqm area at Stockholm Furniture Fair with a café, a stage for seminars and an exhibition. In the exhibition we will show case science based solutions for climate change in our industry.
We have just left the first year ever with a global average temperature increase of more than 1.5 degrees behind us. Only five years remain until 2030, the year when global greenhouse gas emissions should be halved compared to 1990, according to the Paris agreement. The curves are pointing in the wrong direction, and it goes without saying that it´s now time for bold decisions and action.
According to Johan Rockström, professor in environmental science the three most important transformations are:
- A rapid transition away from fossil fuels.
- Transition towards circular business models.
- Transition towards healthy diet and a sustainable food system.
In this exhibition we will lift science and show good examples connected to all three transformations. The solutions exist, many more of us just need to start using them.
